Eco-friendly awareness

"We only have one planet"

"There is no planet B"

Have you seen this around? I'm sure you have and it is true. Probably one of the greatest truths out there. We use and abuse our resources. We live lives and do not think of the impact that it may have on tomorrow and our planet is suffering from it.

From global warming to pollution on oceans, our carbon footprint as a species is killing our planet.

But what can we do? Or rather what can one person do?

I know these questions are common because I had them and have had conversations where someone always says them. We do not at times see how our actions can help or have an impact. After all, I am just on in 7 billion.

However, I am here to say that we can do something and we can be more aware. You have control over your actions and your lifestyle and if you do one thing it helps and if we all do one thing it helps even more. What does not help is to fold our arms and do nothing because we are not sure what we can do.

Now if I am honest, true to my all or nothing motto, I tried to do too much at first. And that did not work. I felt overwhelmed, and I just could not afford to change so much of my lifestyle in one swoop. It felt like an impossible task.

So I brought myself back to reality and started small. I started doing little things. Little eco-friendly swaps and once I had those down I added more and have been moving forward in that direction and do not plan to stop any time soon.

I will be sharing my tips on how I started and what worked from me with you. Some of you may be already on a much-advanced stage than me in your journey and that's awesome but if you are starting and want some easy changes to apply to your life, you are in the right place.

I have for many years, only done what I thought was the only thing I could. I recycle, I try to reuse items when I can and reduce the number of things I purchase. But is that all that we can do? Are there no better more efficient ways to reduce our footprint?

With these questions in mind, I started to do research and with that, I became a little more armed to do a little more. Some of the things we can do are easy like carrying a reusable water bottle and being aware of our actions. But sometimes we do not know where to start or what will be effective.

So I am sharing what I have discovered. Little eco-friendly swaps that will help the environment, changes that will reduce our impact and with that improve our planet.

Let's go on this journey together, because alone it may not seem like much but together and as we grow in numbers it will have an impact and we may help this planet we love.
